The Sharp PC-7000 was an early portable machine from the mid-80′s. Early in a style of computer that we call a “Lunchbox PC”. Obviously named as such because it resembles a lunchbox. This piece is what I consider the first “official” computer of my collection. By “official” I mean the first piece I actually bought off of Ebay. Chronologically my first piece would my PC XT, which was actually my first computer that I just held on to for sentimental reasons. Buying this piece solidified my commitment to filling my living space useless and obsolete crap. For some reason I went glassy-eyed when I first saw this I just flashed to fantasies of being back in the 80′s with the ability to log into a dial-up BBS from anywhere. Provided I had a power outlet and a landline phone, not to mention a good medical plan to help with the back problems i’d suffer from lugging this thing around everywhere. This computer actually has some interesting history to it. The original owner said he used it mostly during the five years he served on a submarine.
